On June 17th 2008, the Expatcenter for Amsterdam and Amstelveen officially opened. On its first birthday, June 17th 2009, the Expatcenter launched its newsletter with updates on services, events and any worhtwhile news for expats living in the Netherlands! The Expatcenter is conveniently located in the World Trade Center (WTC) in Amsterdam Zuid. As of 5 January 2009, a pilot also runs in Rotterdam, in cooperation with the IND, Civil Affairs Department (Publiekszaken), the Expatdesk Rotterdam and a selected number of companies in Rotterdam. The goal of the pilot is to simplify the resident permit application procedure for knowledge migrants.
