Sealed Air Opens New European Head Office in Utrecht

The Netherlands’ position as the location of choice for forward-think global organisations has been given a further boost with the decision by Sealed Air to open its new European head office in Maarssen.

Sealed Air, who are the global leader in product protection, food packaging and hygiene yesterday officially inaugurated its fully renovated and modern headquarters in Maarssen. Jerome Peribere, Sealed Air CEO, and Ilham Kadri, President of the Diversey Care division, hosted the grand opening with over 100 customers, press and industry representatives present.

During the official opening ceremony presentations were given by Pim van den Berg, Vice Governor of the Province of Utrecht, Jeroen Nijland, Commissioner of the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency, and Patrick Mikkelsen, Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in the Netherlands. They all stressed the importance of Sealed Air’s long-standing commitment to the Netherlands, and the part that the country’s business environment has played in Sealed Air’s success.

As part of the inauguration event, guests also had a sneak preview of the latest innovations from Sealed Air’s three divisions. These included Darfresh On Tray and Enduro Power from Food Care, E-Cube and Korrvu Select from Product Care, and Diversey Care’s Pro Series and TASKI Swingobot robotic cleaning machines.

The second part of the programme, the customer event ‘De Toekomst van Schoon’, focused on the critically important theme of ‘The Circular Economy’. Sealed Air guests were inspired by sustainability and food waste prevention topics by speakers from MVO Nederland and TNO.

Henk Toering, Country Director Nederland at Sealed Air said: “We are thrilled with our new European HQ in Maarssen. From this new, modern building we will increase employment in the area. Additionally thanks to the flexible and activity based workplace, a new IT environment and improved communication infrastructure, we will increase collaboration with our customers and other companies in the region.”

Ilham Kadri, President of Diversey Care also commented: “The opening of our new building highlighted how Sealed Air contributes to the circular economy. From Maarssen we will continue to lead the way – step by step in partnership with our customers – in creating a truly safer and healthier business environment.”
