NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKERS for THE NATIVE SPEAKER PROJECT

 

Would you like to volunteer using your own language skills? Do you like working with youth? Are you available a couple of hours a week?

Hart voor Amsterdam is a non-profit organization operating as the connector between businesses, government and social institutions in Amsterdam. Our goal is to stimulate corporate social responsibility and to increase social cohesion. We have developed projects, like the Native Speaker Project (NSP), to challenge youth and help them to improve their potentials.
For this project we are looking for motivated English Native Speakers to participate. NSP sends English native speakers into low income schools once a week to have conversations with the students. The ultimate goals of the program are to augment the youth’s English comprehension and conversation skills and increase test scores. The program is a win-win! Expat volunteers get to make a difference in their new home and the students appreciate the un-orthodox teaching technique. We are looking for volunteers willing to invest two hours a week participting in this project at schools in Amsterdam.
