Biography Godefroy Motte

Godefroy Motte is currently Vice President/Managing Director for the Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) region of Eastman Chemical Company. He was previously Vice-President for the EMEA region for the Chemicals Division of Eastman Chemical Company, a position he held since May 2001. His past role was extended to include the Polymers Business Group in April 2006.

Godefroy joined Eastman in 1985 in Paris, France. His early career focused on the commercial and product side of the Chemicals businesses but evolved to Market Manager, Regional Business Manager, Site Manager, and then Vice President, Operations for the EMEA region.

He gained experience in the Plastics businesses through the construction and start-up of a new plant for PET polymers in Spain and as the Vice President, Polymers. His jobs have taken him over the world: working and living in France, the U.S.A, Netherlands and Spain.

In addition to his achievements with Eastman, Godefroy has a number of other responsibilities, including his membership of the Executive Committee of the European Chemical Association (CEFIC), his Board memberships of CEFIC and of the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, as well as his Chairmanship of the Program Council 'Build Trust' of CEFIC.

Born in France in 1958, Godefroy studied at the school of “Hautes Etudes Industrielles” in Lille, France, where he graduated as a Chemical Engineer. He also obtained a Masters degree in Management (DESS) at the “Institut d’Administration des Entreprises” in Sorbonne, Paris.

He and his wife have three children. His interests include skiing and mountain climbing.
