Biography Coen van Oostrom
In 1997, Coen van Oostrom (1970) founded his own real estate development company: OVG. Currently, OVG is the largest commercial developer in the Netherlands. The organization’s successful and inventive take on the development process received critical acclaim, culminating in being awarded the prestigious FD PropertyNL Award (2006) for best developer. In 2007, Coen was individually honored with the ‘Real estate personality of the year’ award; further testament to the strength of the unique approach; customers instead of location and “green” building.
Coen is affiliated with The Millennium Promise, Member of the Board of the Sophia Children’s Hospital Fund. He is Chairman of Veerhaven Concerts Foundation, Member of the Supervisory Board of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra Foundation and Young Global Leader of The World Economic Forum. Coen is a Member of the “Dolf van Gendt” Kring of the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Member of the Clinton Global Initiative and Member of the Deltametropool Association.
Coen obtained his degree in Business Economics at the Erasmus University, Rotterdam in 1995.
Coen is married to Wendy Van Oostrom-Van Bodegom. They have three children; two daughters aged 8, and a daughter aged 6.
