Americans Living in the Netherlands
As of January 1, 2008 - according the Central Bureau of Statistics - some 31,000 Americans were registered as living in the Netherlands.
Province of Noord-Holland Houses the Most US Citizens
Most of the US citizens here live in the west of the country. Almost 70% are living in the provinces of Utrecht, Zuid-Holland or Noord-Holland. Twice as many American live in the province of Noord-Holland as live, on average, in the rest of the country. The municipality of Wassenaar harbors twenty times more US citizens than the national average. No doubt the American School there is an important factor in the decision process.

Relatively More Young Americans Here
US citizens living in the Netherlands are relatively young compared to the national average. Over half are younger than 30 years of age whereas the national population figure of those under 30 is some 35 percent. Only 4 percent of the US citizens here are over 65 years of age. The national figure is almost 15 percent.
