Special TV program for expats in the The Hague region - Jan. 2009
Feeling at home in The Netherlands? Baffled about the bureaucracy? Surprised by the quirky behaviour of the Dutch? Don't worry, you're not the only one!
Local broadcasting company TV West now has a program where you can share your experiences and laugh with and learn from other expats from The Hague and surroundings.
Special program for expats in the region
In the TV West International show we will cover lifestye, culture, sports and give you practical advice about city life in The Netherlands. Every week we will visit a person or family who is about to leave The Netherlands and wants to share his or her advice for survival, fun and success in the region. They will talk about what they will take with them, and what they will leave behind, and hopefully sell off through our online auction. Another weekly item is joining another expat for dinner for a dish from their country of origin.
The sale of furniture, recipes from the programme, an event calender can be found on www.westinternational.nl.
The program aims at expats and international oriented people who are living and working in The Hague and surrounding areas.
Experienced expats Paul Brown, Cecila Aquino and Nicola Courtney (photo beneath this page) teamed up to host this program. Paul Brown was born and raised in London and has been active in the financial services industry for over 20 years. He came to The Netherlands in the early 1990's. Cecilia Aquino is a twenty-seven year old Filipino-American who moved to the Netherlands in July 2008. Nicola Courtney’s passport might say she's British, but she is what you would call a serial expat. She has experienced the highs and lows of moving to a new country. The program is produced by Starsound Productions.
TV West is the first broadcaster with a special television show for the international community in The Netherlands.
