Published: May 30, 2018

On May 29, 2018 AmCham joined United Expats of the Netherlands in The Hague to hand over the petition advocating for a transitional agreement for expats to the Standing Committee on Finance. In four weeks time, the petition has been signed by over 30.000 expats. Also VNO-NCW Chairman Hans de Boer, Eindhoven Mayor and Brainport Chairman John Jorritsma, and VSNU President Pieter Duisenberg were present to make a plea for a transitional agreement. AmCham as well as the German Chamber of Commerce, the Royal Association of Netherlands Shipowners and the Trade Union Federation for Professionals were part of the delegation that met with the Members of Parliament. On May 31, Members of the Standing Committee on Finance will ask for further clarification of the Government's plans to adjust the 30% ruling in a written consultation.

For AmCham's position on the proposed changes to the 30% ruling and earlier activities by AmCham, see here. A recent letter to State Secretary for Finance is available here.
