Constantijn van Oranje & Mona Keijzer open Holland Tech Square at CES

Special Envoy StartupDelta HRH Constantijn van Oranje and State Secretary for Economic Affairs and Climate Mona Keijzer today opened Holland Tech Square at CES 2019 in Las Vegas.

In the tech square, 50 innovative Dutch startups will present their products to customers, investors, and companies. The Dutch pavilion is one of the largest single-country pavilions at CES, the largest annual technology event in the world where the latest technologies and next-generation innovations are shown to the market.

More than 180,000 visitors from more than 155 countries visit CES each January. The Netherlands presents itself around the theme “Dutch Spirit.” In addition to Constantijn van Oranje and Secretary Keijzer, Gerbert Kunst, Consul General in San Francisco, will also be present during the event.

The Netherlands as a hub for innovation

There is a lot of interest in the Dutch pavilion. Consumer Technology Association (CTA) President & CEO Gary Shapiro also attended the opening of Holland Tech Square.

“The Netherlands, an Innovation Champion in CTA’s 2019 International Innovation Scorecard, is one of the most innovative countries in the world,” said Shapiro. “From its smart city efforts to its economic policies, the Netherlands has created an environment that allows technology and innovation to thrive. And here, at the global stage for innovation, CES gives Dutch startups and entrepreneurs a unique opportunity to grow and network internationally.”

The 50 selected Dutch startups represent areas in which the Netherlands plays a leading role worldwide: robotics, digital health, 3D printing, medtech, and smart mobility, with products such as the world’s first portable dual-camera headband for surgeons, smart scooters, and flying cars.

StartupDelta organizes the Holland Tech Square together with the Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO) and the Dutch consulate in San Francisco.
