Last Thursday, April 11, AmCham had the honor and pleasure of organizing an exclusive and entertaining event ‘Inside The White House’ with keynote speaker Jon Decker, White House Correspondent for Fox News Radio. The event was generously hosted by EY and moderated by Marc ter Haar, Director at EY, and co-sponsored by the Pestana Riverside Amsterdam.
Jon Decker has been a member of the White House Press Corps since 1995, first for Reuters, then for Fox News Radio, and has covered the Clinton, Bush, Obama and Trump Administrations, as well as 24 State of the Union Addresses, 6 Presidential elections and the Impeachment of President Clinton. He has been in the Supreme Court to cover some of the most important cases of the past two decades - including Bush v. Gore, NFIB v. Sebelius and Windsor v. United States.
During a lively and entertaining presentation, Jon Decker spoke about what it is like to work as a correspondent at the White House. He explained that in his role, he is above all a non-partisan observer who covers the events that take place. He shared insights and experiences from different presidencies, and with his memorable photo impressions of historic moments and meetings at the White House, gave us a real look into both the daily events and the history being written. An open-hearted and inspiring Q&A with the audience followed, where Members and guests could address whatever topic they were interested in.
AmCham cordially thanks Jon Decker for being our distinguished speaker at this event, Marc ter Haar for being such an excellent moderator, the EY team for the outstanding hospitality and the Pestana Riverside Amsterdam for its generous support. We also thank our many guests for joining us on April 11.
