Privacy Statement

In this privacy statement, the American Chamber of Commerce in the Netherlands (AmCham) explains which personal data AmCham collects, how the data are used and for what purpose.

We provide membership services to our member companies and the employees within that company. As a result, we must have limited personal data in order to be able to provide our services. AmCham finds it important to handle your personal data with care. Your personal data are therefore properly processed and secured. AmCham adheres to the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG). Because the data processing operations by AmCham fall within the statutory exemption regulations, they are not registered with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
 
Personal Data Processed by AmCham

AmCham processes your personal data when you use our services and/or because you have provided us with your personal data. Below is an overview of the main types of personal data processed by AmCham:

  • First and last name
  • Professional affiliation
  • (Company) address
  • Phone number
  • (Work) e-mail address

The above data are primarily linked to your company’s membership profile. AmCham does not record matters such as religion, race, health, sexual orientation and the like.
 
GDPR Statement

The General Data Protection Regulation imposes requirements on companies that collect or store personal data of residents of the European Union. At AmCham, we understand the importance of your personal data and we take steps to protect the data when stored in the cloud or other infrastructure. We have adopted a number of measures to ensure that members/relations of AmCham and their data are treated in a manner that is consistent with privacy principles. 

Sharing Personal Data With Third Parties

AmCham will not sell or provide your information to third parties and will only provide this information to third parties if this is necessary for the execution of our agreement with you or to comply with a legal obligation. With companies that process your data on our behalf, we conclude a processing agreement to ensure the same level of security and confidentiality of your data. AmCham remains responsible for these processing operations.

Photography

During AmCham’s events, the AmCham staff or a professional photographer may take photos or record video footage to document the event. These photos and video materials can be published on AmCham’s website and AmCham's social media channels, in the AmCham Newsletter or in AmCham presentations (digital or printed) to report on or to promote our activities. If you want your image removed or if you don’t want to be photographed or filmed, you can contact AmCham at any given time.

How We Protect Personal Data

AmCham takes the protection of your data seriously and takes appropriate measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorized access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorized modification. If you have the impression that your data is not secure or that there are indications of abuse, please contact AmCham via office@amcham.nl.
