AmCham China Shares Lessons Learned

Published: April 2, 2020

This morning, Members and colleagues from other AmChams across Europe were invited to join a webinar in collaboration with AmCham China. Alan Beebe, President of the American Chamber of Commerce in China, together with Andrew Scott, Policy Analyst and Bai Yang, Associate, shared lessons learned and insights on the business impact of COVID-19.

Alan Beebe reflected on the developments in China over the past months and the gradual resumption of business activities at present. He presented a number of recommendations for the business community sourced from China-based executives on the frontlines of the COVID-19 outbreak. Andrew Scott elaborated on the business impact of COVID-19, with results from a recent survey of AmCham China's member companies, and outlined a number of key characteristics of the current and pre-COVID-19 business climate in China. China remains a top long-term priority for most U.S. companies, despite slowing growth, wider U.S.-China tensions, longstanding business challenges in the country and the COVID-19 outbreak.

During the Q&A, the AmCham China delegation in Beijing further expanded on how the crisis was and is handled by the business community and the country as a whole. They also shared how the AmCham China team was and is able to be of value to its Members throughout this crisis.

AmCham The Netherlands cordially thanks its counterpart in China for supporting the global business community by sharing these valuable insights!
