AmCham Visit to Booking.com

Published: November 3, 2023

On November 2, AmCham took its Members on a visit to the new headquarters of Booking.com, one the Netherlands' most successful tech companies.

Maurice Hoogeveen, Senior Manager Public Affairs at Booking.com, spoke about Booking.com's journey since its founding in 1996 and its international (including U.S.) presence. Booking.com's footprint in the Netherlands is significant, and stretches far beyond economic impact. For company's like Booking, keeping the Netherlands an attractive destination for international talent is key - especially in light of diversity and the scarcity of technical skills.

Member of AmCham also were taken on a tour through Booking.com's vibrant, green campus, which features multiple restaurants that offer various cuisines to cater to the international workforce, over 11,000 plants throughout the building, a game room, and spectacular views of the Amsterdam skyline. In addition, the building runs on solar energy and WKO (Warmte Koude Opslag) technology, with no gas usage.

AmCham cordially thanks Maurice Hoogeveen and Tessa van Stiphout for facilitating this visit!
