On Friday September 16, Young Professionals were invited to spend an afternoon on the U.S. Elections with Professor Daron R. Shaw & U.S. Consul General David R. McCawley.

After passing security, we were welcomed into the former dining room of Mr. Willem Frederik van Heukelom who purchased the lot known as Museumplein 19 in 1912.
David R. McCawley shared some historical background on the building known as the Consulate General in Amsterdam since 1945.

After introducing Professor Daron Robert Shaw (University of Texas), AmCham’s young professionals learned more on this year’s presidential campaigns.
The afternoon was concluded with a reception where the personnel of the US Residence offered their delicious bites to all the guests.

AmCham thanks the US Consul General David R. McCawley and his staff for their hospitality and giving AmCham Young Professionals the opportunity to visit this unique location.
