On May 22, AmCham hosted its Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2025 and Chamber Luncheon with Prime Minister Dick Schoof. This year’s AGM, held at the Kasteel de Wittenburg, included a summary of priorities and plans for AmCham in the year to come, in addition to the election and welcome of six new board members.
We were honored to welcome Prime Minister Dick Schoof as our luncheon’s keynote speaker. In his address, he discussed the positive direction of the Netherlands and the valuable economic ties between the Netherlands and the United States. After his speech, the Prime Minister answered questions from the audience, which ranged from sector-specific futures to how to strengthen relationships in divisive times.
In addition to the speech from the Prime Minister, Chargé d ’Affairs a.i. Marcus Micheli gave a message from the United States Embassy. He addressed the importance of mutually strong United States and Dutch economies, and the significance of diplomacy, advocacy, and a fresh perspective in achieving reciprocity and fairness. Phaedra Kortekaas, AmCham President and Managing Director Benelux at SAS Institute, additionally spoke to the long-standing relationship between the United States and the Netherlands.
AmCham cordially thanks both Prime Minister Dick Schoof and Marcus Micheli for their insights and time, as well as the team at Kasteel de Wittenburg for their collaboration.
