In an article published today in De Financiƫle Telegraaf, Arjan van der Linde, Tax Director at GE and Chairman of AmCham's Tax Committee, comments on the recent Apple case. Van der Linde sounds the alarm. The current debate on corporate taxation is very unfavorable and starts to have a negative impact. Supported by a large group of American companies in the Netherlands, van der Linde urges the Dutch government to lower corporate tax rates. The Netherlands no longer is an obvious number one destination for foreign investors. In the long run, this development can have a very disadvantageous effect on the Dutch economy and the US-NL trade relation.
A similar message is conveyed by AmCham Ireland's Executive Director, Mark Redmond, in an opinion piece in the Independent - read the article here.
