Going for Gold Dinner 2023

Published: October 10, 2023

On October 9, AmCham hosted the 2023 edition of the annual Going for Gold Dinner at Hotel Okura Amsterdam. During the Going for Gold Dinner, the CEO of a Dutch listed company takes the stage to give insight into her company’s strategic course, key developments within the industry and how the Netherlands can ‘go for gold’.

The American Chamber of Commerce in the Netherlands (AmCham) was very honored that Marjan Rintel, CEO of KLM accepted the invitation to deliver this year’s keynote. Marjan Rintel reflected on the transition towards sustainable aviation - which is a tough journey but significant steps can (already) be made through innovation and investment in renewal of the fleet. Mrs. Rintel also addressed how KLM bounced back after COVID and how current policies pose a challenge, while Schiphol and KLM have always contributed to the attractiveness of the Netherlands for many international companies.

AmCham is grateful that H.E. Shefali Razdan-Duggal, U.S. Ambassador to the Netherlands (US Embassy The Hague) joined as Special Guest of Honor. In her remarks she reflected on the longstanding ties between the U.S. and the Netherlands, and how companies contribute to prosperity on both sides of the Atlantic - and how the business community can increase its impact by creating inclusive cultures where everybody can thrive.

AmCham thanks its partners: Hotel Okura Amsterdam, DLA Piper Netherlands, Qlik and Delta Air Lines. Sincere thanks also to our table sponsors: Mastercard, Simmons & Simmons, MSD Nederland, Aon, The NetworKing and Roeland Associates.
