New AmCham Executive Director

After eight and a half years of loyal service AmCham’s Executive Director Patrick Mikkelsen has announced to resign from his position by the end of this year to continue his career path abroad. He will be succeeded by Marc ter Haar, who will take office as Executive Director as of January 1, 2021. 

“On behalf of the Board of Directors I’d like to express our great gratitude for Patrick’s commitment and leadership in the past period”, says AmCham President Jasper van Ouwerkerk. “He has been a dedicated and respected ambassador of the American-Dutch business community and he is leaving AmCham in an outstanding condition. We wish him the very best for the future.”

AmCham’s new Executive Director Marc ter Haar (Arnhem, 1967) has fulfilled several positions at multinational companies, both in the Netherlands and abroad. From 2012 until 2020 he was Strategic Relationship Director at EY, leading the firms Strategic Office. Furthermore Marc was Founder  & Chairman of the Board of the Amsterdam City Swim Foundation. Currently he is Member of the Supervisory Board of the Fonds Gehandicapten Sport. He has lived in the United States for three years.

“Marc knows AmCham well from having attended and even facilitated many events, is well networked in the business community and has a big passion for the Transatlantic relationship”, says Jasper van Ouwerkerk. “We are confident that AmCham will be in the best hands with Marc and we wish him good luck in his new role.”
