On January 30, AmCham and its Industry Committee welcomed Members and Guests at the iconic Wereldmuseum in Rotterdam for the 2024 New Year's Dinner. We were very honored to have Mr. Jaap Smit, King's Commissioner in the Province of South Holland, and Ms. Kate Nanavatty, Acting Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy The Hague, as our Guests of Honor and Speakers.
The role of Provincial Governments often remains underexposed, nevertheless Provinces play a major role in creating a vision for the implementation of Dutch national policy, including the allocation of space for housing, economic activity and nature. Provinces develop visions for national assignments, including the energy and other transitions, with concrete investment proposals. During his Keynote, Mr. Smit addressed challenges and opportunities in the Province of South Holland.
